1. Singing Competition
Leeds Hong Kong Society has invited York Hong Kong Society to join their annual singing competition. The participants are from all around the UK, such as Manchester Uni, Newcastle Uni, Nottingham Uni, York Uni, Leeds Metropolitan Uni and Leeds Uni itself. The venue can accommodate 1000 people ( the venue will be held at Creation), and Leeds Hong Kong Society has offered us a package which is 10 pounds per person including entrance fee and trasportation fee ( from York uni to Leeds, then back from Leeds to York Uni). This would be a great opportunity for us to join such a big Joint Uni event.

China, with her 5000-year civilization, has been renowned for her distinguished culture and unique education. ACC (Aid for Chinese Charities) and CSSA (Chinese Students and Scholar Association) proudly present the first-ever cultural and education exhibition in the campus! It will be held at Physical Building on 14th February (Tuesday) and at Goodricke dining hall on 16th February (Thursday), from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
The exhibition gives you a flavor of our traditional culture and education through vast amount of pictures. As in culture, we will show the pictures of different cultural activities, e.g. music, board game, dance, from various regions in China. As to education, we portray both the traditional and current education systems. Live show will be on during the exhibition!

Welcome to York's Chinese New Year Festival, celebrating the Year of the Dog. This is the first time York City is holding the Oriental Market. We, Oriental Dream Studio (ODS) will set out our Chinese quintessence: calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting, handcraft paper-cut and the show of 'Chinese kungfu tea'. Also we will provide delicious traditional Chinese food. Furthermore, there is a good opportunity to get to know our ODS Cookery Program and our wonderful MTV, all of these were done by York University students.
